To the Editor:
“Bring northern Cyprus back into the fold” (Originally
published in Financial Times ,Comment & Analysis,
11/13/07) and republished on your website ( url:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21774034/ ) is premised almost entirely on false historical revisionism,
inaccuracies and omissions. Nick Kochan’s missive is a
shameless attempt to absolve military aggressor,
Turkey, the perpetrator of gross crimes against peace
from its responsibilities for the 1974 invasions,
ongoing military-occupation, ethnic cleansing, and
cultural genocide of Cyprus.
This article was highly offensive to Greek Orthodox
Christians, who are victims of Turkey’s ongoing ethnic
cleansing and cultural genocide of Orthodox Christian
people. Turkey is a human rights abuser, is guilty of
Armenian and Assyrian and Greek Genocide, is a
military aggressor, is undemocratic and is unfit to
rule over the people of Cyprus.
Turkey’s invasions and ongoing illegal occupation is
in complete contempt for norms of war, international
law, UN resolutions, and human rights, and its ongoing
cultural genocide of Greek Orthodox Christianity from
Cyprus is continuing unabated, and Turkey remains
unapologetic and unrepentant. The Republic of Turkey
was founded on the heels of one of the most tragic
episodes in the history of humanity. The Armenian,
Assyrian and Greek Genocide of 1915-1923, perpetrated
by the Ottoman Turkish government, was the very first
planned genocide of the 20th Century, the Turkish
government denies its responsibility for these crimes,
and continues to regard the victims with contempt
through its ongoing aggression against Cyprus and
through its horrific human rights record, that often
involves torture and assassinations of intellectuals
for thought crimes.
We must stand, as a nation, against human rights
abusers, against military aggressors, and against
genocide denial and act with absolute moral clarity in
the fight to eradicate these terrible crimes.
Thank you for your time. I would appreciate learning
of any action your website takes on this matter, and
would appreciate an apology. I can be contacted at the

The Editor of Financial Times Nicosia, the 14th of November 2007 By fax: 020 7873 5938 and E-mail: letters.editor@ft.com Dear Sir RE: Article by Nick Kochan I refer to the above matter and I will appreciate if my comments are published in your Paper. The so called “Turkish Republic Of Northern Cyprus” is a product of occupation of 38% of the territory of the Republic of Cyprus, after the Turkish invention in 1974. 200,000 Greek Cypriots were violently uprooted from their homes, churches and other cultural and historical monuments were lauded and turned into stables and more than 1,000 people are still missing. At the same time the 120,000 Turkish Cypriots that were blackmailed by Turkey to be moved to the occupied area, were since 1974 reduced to not more than 70,000 and are replaced by mainland Turkey settlers, which is a war crime. Resolution 541 of the Security Council of the UN contemned the so called “Turkish Republic Of Northern Cyprus” and asked the other Countries not to recognise it and not to facilitate it in any way. Since when war crimes and violation of the international law and order calls for tears, for “isolation” and need to support and facilitated a regime build on blood and national cleansing? Is this the vision of Mr Nick Kochan for a civilized 21st century world? Congratulations for the return to the law of jungle! Yours Sincerely Haris Kyriakides Advocate Tel: 00357 22 377442 and 00357 99 657604 ============================= The article titled "Bring northern Cyprus back into the fold" which was posted on the MSNBC.com web site needs to be removed because is based on fiction and its author needs to be reprimanded from altering historical facts. It is really shameful for a news organization such as MSNBC to allow such an article on its official website. Here are the facts: 20th November 2007 Messrs MSNBC Dear Sirs Bring northern Cyprus back into the fold. By Nick Kochan. Financial Times. updated 10:41 p.m. ET, Tues., Nov. 13, 2007 The above quoted anti-Cyprus article was also posted in your MSNBC. It is obvious that Nick Kochan ignores the rudiments of the parody he attempts to deal with, thus his views are unjustly biased towards the 33 years old Turkey's aggression in Cyprus. He sides with the aggressor against his over three decades long victim. It is noted that he writes about "opportunities in the Middle East" Do the opportunities he seeks, are: - how to rob countries of their sovereignty? - how to destabilise the region? - how to undermine those countries' order and peace?- how to corrupt the truth? - how to support war-mongers and the weapons lobby in starting wars, bombardments, killing and mass destructions fields? - how to sell homelands and countries over to their enemies? Legitimately there is no "northern Cyprus" as an entity. There is only one internationally recognised sovereign Cyprus. Those in the Turkish aggressed side are a minority of native Cypriot-Turks ruled by over 50,000 Turkey's aggression force and by over 160,000 Anatolian Turk colonists - a domination of two non Cypriot coloniststo one genuine Cypriot-Turk, and the latter are constantly fleeing the quisling regime to "greener pastures" elsewhere. Why then the oversensitivity for the aggressing Turks? Whose interests do they serve? those of the accomplices? How can the self-barricaded aggressors be brought [BACK] into WHAT fold? They have never been. The population in the aggressed area is predominantly foreign Turks aggressing the place, and in self-barricaded isolation Cyprus treats Cypriot-Turks as its citizens and provides for them when they cross over from the razorwire dividing line, equally as much as for all "ethnicities of Cyprus" and its Hellenic ascendancy. All that Cypriot-Turks can do is to replace the quisling pseudo-regime (get the aggressor force and the colonists out, and the problemis solved) and instantly integrate in the Cypriot homeland like everyone else does. For yours and Nick Kochan's edification, the following is very useful + + + Request: Kindly forward to the Authorities, and give it wide circulation (immediate release), thank you As well, this Paper can be used for Colleges and Schools students, in their studies of history, social, and political sciences; and for discussion groups + MODIFIED COPY + Britons Australia, UK, Dominions & Commonwealth, Nexus 1st October 2007 Messrs British Broadcasting Corporation, Newshour, United Kingdom. newshour@bbc.co.uk C.c. CYPRUS INDEPENDENCE DAY. 1st October. 47th Anniversary Dear Sirs, Madams In the 1940 bleakest hours for the then collapsing Allies, and then throughout the WW2 HELLENES RESCUED DEMOCRACY FOR THE NATIONS OF THE WORLD BY CONTRAST: Ottoman and subsequently New Turkey implemented its "Turkey for Turks only†dogma, which led to wholesale eradication in millions of its non-Turkic populations (indigenous there for some four millenniums); Christians - Hellenes. Armenians, Assyrians, etc. In WW1 Turkey sided with Germany against the Allies; in WW2 Turkey “sat on the fenceâ€. Within a decade after, the formerly WW2 alliances and pledges were forgotten and replaced by dirty politics. Cypriots who were “fighters for world freedom" before with the Allies against the Axis, were afterwards confronted by the Colonial Office’s refusal to allow them the Churchill pledge for self-determined independence, and found themselves rebelling for their freedom. Britain the formerly liberator of nations, then turned denier (reneging Churchill's pledges) of independence to her faithful allies Hellenes (generally) on Cyprus. Cypriot-Hellenes who fought for world democracy, had to then fight for their independence, and even now are still fighting against the international intrigue. From acclaimed “freedom fighters†they were misnamed “terrorists†by Britain and its hench-countries Turkey and USA. The junta in Hellas was engineered by the USA masters and patrons of dictatorships, and likewise the subsequ
